First Greek PAPA Team Meeting with Coach Educators

The first Greek PAPA team meeting with the Coach Educators was held at the Univerisity of Thessaly on 8 July 2010. Head coaches of youth football teams from all over Greece visited the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences to discuss the key elements and future planning of the PAPA project.

It was pointed out that the motivation processes that occur during training are complex but also important for a positive and healthy youth development. The coaches (V. Aleksiou, N. Patronis, P. Keramidas, V. Sigalas, T. Voutiritsas, E. Stefanis, G. Loutsos, A. Masouras, T. Karagiannis, G. Gioti and P. Kalogiannis)gave a clear picture of the structure of youth football in Greece and expressed their interest in applying the PAPA project in their football teams. the first official meeting with the Coach Educators attracted the attention of one of the biggest sport-sites and radio stations in the country (www.sport-gm.gr) as well as those of the local newspapers and sport-sites (www.sportrikala.gr).
