PAPA Main Trial Gets Underway in Norway

The delivery of all workshops for the main trial phase of the PAPA Project has now been completed in Norway. In total 17 workshops were conducted by the seven selected Coach Educators throughout three different regions in the country.

Over 150 coaches from seven- and eleven-a-side football teams attended the workshops.  The workshops were received with great enthusiasm and were deemed a success by Professor Yngvar Ommundsen, who led the NSSS team in implementing the main trial intervention in Norway.

Following the workshops, all participating grassroots football coaches received log in details that enables them to access the specially designed online educational material (e-Learning). Constructed by the team at the University of Birmingham, UK, this e-Learning resource provides additional learning material, video clips, practical illustrations and activities to support the grassroot coaches as they put the theory into practice in their coaching activities. The website also includes an online forum and chat facility, allowing coaches to swap ideas and share experiences.

The Norwegian PAPA teams in Oslo and Bergen look forward to seeing how these coaches develop their coaching practice over the football season!

16 grassroot coaches from eleven clubs attended the final workshop in the county of Vestfold on April 30th
